I am always thankful for the things in my life that is keeping me sane.
Like.. my pets. My A. The love from family. Yoga at home, at 3am.
So before I continue with my rambles, I want to thank Vivre Active Wear for sending over

Let’s Catch Up!

leave a comment »

The last time I checked, I have been a horrible blogger.
I have not been updating my blog regularly,
and it was so bad a reader I bumped into at my cafe asked if I was still blogging.

I am sorry guys.
Tonight feels like the night for some virtual verbal vomit.

– – –

Work has been overwhelming since I got back from my trips and as of now,
there is still a whole load of work that needs to be cleared.

A Happy Chinese New Year to all of my Chinese readers!
(At least I’m still in time to wish y’all this. Heh!)

To be honest, 2015 has been quite crazy for me.
I started the year flying around, to Seoul for work,
and to Italy / Sweden / Copenhagen for part work part leisure.
My second trip halfway round the globe to the Scandinavian countries
is truly an eye opener and I cannot wait to blog about my experiences soon!

And when I got back to Singapore, I came face-to-face with some (quite) serious issues at work.
They really caught me off guard because for the longest time, everything seems fine on the surface.
But little did I know that my staff are actually having problems at work and
I really blame myself for not being there to solve problems when they needed me.
To be honest, I think I am quite a horrible leader. :/
And I am grateful to have the support of A, who completes me and
does things that are beyond my capabilities in times like this.

All I can say is, it really isn’t easy managing people.
And things can be made trickier when I am working with the people closest to my heart – good friends and family.
I hope with good communication and faith in each other,
we will be able to overcome all obstacles and grow together as a team, as a family.

This Chinese New Year was rather special for me because I got to spend some good time talking to my Dad.
And under my encouragement, my Dad agreed to an upcoming family trip to Taipei.
Although I won’t be joining them on the trip,
I am very happy to hear that my Dad is joining my Mom and my aunts on the trip because
I honestly cannot remember when was the last time Dad travel with the family.

If I’m not wrong, it was like 12, 15 years ago.

Here are some snapshots from Chinese New Year.

Zombie Club

with 15 comments

Do you look like death by 8pm too?
If so, welcome to the 8pm Zombie Club.
As the President of the 8pm Zombie Club, I feel obliged to let you know a little more
about how things are like in our club, how you became one of us and
what you can do if you want to leave the club.
I have been trying some products from Clinicians – Stress & Energy Support and REM Sleep
and they have helped me a lot with managing my stress and energy levels during
the day and sleep during the night.

But before I get to that, I have to stress how hard it is for me to get to sleep every night.
I’m a huge insomniac. You will know, if you follow me on Instagram (SIGH).
Here at the 8pm Zombie Club, we hardly get enough sleep.
There are times (when we feel like we should sleep more), we cannot fall asleep at night.
It’s the norm for us to toss and turn around on the bed from 11pm until 3am,
and it usually takes us about 50 games of Candy Crush before the Zzz Monster catch up with us.
As the President of the 8pm Zombie Club, I lead a very busy lifestyle; a very stressful one too.
Do you know why stress and quality of sleep is correlated?
Since most of you are probably my club members, I shall let you in on how a typical day is like in my life.

Our 2nd Christmas

leave a comment »

Christmas is just round the corner again!
There is no doubt the Christmas season is my favourite time of the year,
not only because everyone is in a good mood generally, but also because there are lots of gatherings & parties!
I love those!

The cafe is my second home, and it’s always fun decorating the cafe for Christmas. Heh!
I love such things la!

For Christmas, I got a little dipped fruits bouquet from Rainbowly!
It’s pretty and it’s so yummy! As pretty as a regular bouquet, but better because it can be eaten.
Muahahaha! :p
Good as gifts, event decor or even for weddings! I like!

My bouquet is made up of chocolate-coated pineapples and strawberries! SUPER DELICIOUS! :D”

So pretty ya? :D

This year, my staff and I had another lil party at the cafe and we had a few ex-staff join us.
I cannot emphasise how happy I am to see them back at the cafe, and still having fun with the rest
even though they aren’t working with us anymore. :)

Christmas is coming and I have already started buying presents for myself. (Hehe!)
I have been looking for a small backpack that I can use for everyday work (and to act young),
and I managed to find this pretty two-way bag from SummurCo.com.
It comes with an extra strap to be used as a backpack but I use the long handles directly as the backpack handles.
It can also be a normal bucket bag, depending on what you like.

I also like the personalised tag I added.
I had my initials on, and it’s complimentary, so YAY!

Oh the two metal “pins” were initially not black but I coloured them black with a permanent marker.

I also got a new laptop case for myself. LOVE the tag I added too!

The quality is really freaking good!
I’m planning to get my passport cover and notebooks for 2015 from them already! :D

With SIXPEGSxSUMMURCO, you can enjoy 5% off your total bill!

Lately I have also been checking out different online stores to get clothes for the upcoming festive season.
How do you normally check which shop to go to? Via Google? Or by seeing where your favourite bloggers shop at?

I’ve discovered this pretty cool website called ShopVenture.
It’s a bit like an online store directory that comes with review and rating function,
so you can pretty much filter out the good online stores at one look.

Screen Shot 2014-12-10 at 9.33.17 pm

I like how it is not limited to just local online stores but also include
reliable overseas online stores that does international shopping etc!

When you shop at an online store that is not featured at the website, you can also add it in to the database.
(Like how I’m doing it for SummurCo.com here) Heh!
And for shop owners, you can also list your shops on this website and see whether your customers are happy. :p

Screen Shot 2014-12-10 at 9.35.48 pm
Screen Shot 2014-12-10 at 9.37.23 pm
Screen Shot 2014-12-10 at 9.32.52 pm

From the website, I also got some clothes from VainGloriousYou, KLARRA and pets stuff!
Like before this, I didn’t even know Cotton On has an online store!
It’s pretty addictive because from one store that you’re in, they can actually recommend similar stores
that you might also like. Like a drug! Heh.

Screen Shot 2014-12-10 at 9.37.49 pm

So do check ShopVenture out if you’re fretting over where to shop for gifts!
Do also share your reviews and let us know which one is good and which one to avoid (don’t be selfish k!)
They are also giving away a leather bag to encourage people to share reviews, so why not ya? :p

* On a sidenote, I’m going to Seoul soon. Any ideas on where is good to go or must-sees?

Cat x Alpaca x Cat

leave a comment »

And so, other than lavish temples, cheap massages, good food and fancy hotels, Bangkok has more to offer!
A and I checked out three theme cafes in Bangkok and I’m here to share more about what we think of them.

We have heard (or seen) many cat cafes because they are getting so popular these days.
But this one that we visited is one of the prettiest I’ve seen so far!
Other than the cafe section, they also have a retail section, as well as a grooming arm!

Thomas Erber20

The cats here are really pretty! And we saw 3 (or was it 4) Maine Coons,
and A went crazy because she really likes her cats BIG! Hahahahaha.
But to be frank, the Maine Coons looked really majestic!

The pictures you see above is the usual sight during most of the time.
We were also lucky enough to witness how feeding time was like at the cafe!
The lady with the cat food walked into the room with a tray with all the cat food and went “Party time! Party time!”.

Thomas Erber21
Thomas Erber22

We had tea and a small bread pudding, it wasn’t expensive at all.

They had a little glass enclosure that says “Delivery Room”, when we approached it,
we saw 4 little British Shorthair kittens in it. We really loved this place!
We were also tempted to by this t-shirt. Heh! The merchandises were on the pricey side though. :x

The address of Purr Cat Cafe Club is 63 Soi Sukhumvit 53, Khlongtunnua, กรุงเทพมหานคร 10110, Thailand.
In case you want to check it out on your next trip.
It’s in the Thonglor area so I recommend dinner at one of the other nicer restaurants nearby. :)

Thanks to Jayne Tham, we also found out that there is an Alpaca Farm Cafe in town!

ALPACAS! They are like, HOW CUTE!

This one is slightly out of the main city area but it’s not too far by taxi.
Unfortunately, they open only after 5pm so the traffic was bad and it took us almost an hour of taxi ride to get there.
It was well worth it though, and you’ll see why!

Thomas Erber24

It’s a huge huge place – a bit like an open-air Marche style where there are different food stores you can get your food from.
Actually not that much, just 3 different ones. :p
Other than alpacas, who are the star of the restaurant, we also spotted horses, ducks, bunnies and cats around here.
It really feels more like a petting zoo, and we really enjoyed our time here.
It was our first time seeing an Alpaca in real life – I didn’t know they were so friendly!
The whole time I was worried that they might spit at me. Fortunately, nothing happened. Hahaha! :p

Thomas Erber25

I like how they are all looking at the camera. :p

One word of caution though, this place can be a mosquito-feeding ground at night, so if you prefer dining outdoors,
make sure you arm yourself with an insect repellent or cover up well.
If not, you can also choose to sit indoors where it’s air conditioned.

Alpaca View Farm and Cuisine is located at 11 Soi Ladprao-Wanghin 71, Ladprao Rd, Bangkok 10320.
Do note that they open only after 5pm, and opens till late.
Good to chill with beer and live music! :)

– – –

The last “cat” cafe we visited was…

TADAH! It’s also a cat ya? Hahaha!
We really didn’t come with the intention to visit this one, but saw it while we were roaming around the new Siam Square 1 mall.
It is really massive spanning across 3 storeys, so we decided to have some tea there.

Thomas Erber26
Thomas Erber29

It was MASSIVELY pink and Hello Kitty all over the place, I think A also fainted.
(Thanks A, for caving in to my whims and fancies) HAHA!

Thomas Erber27

They mainly serve drinks and some light desserts, and only savoury item they had on the menu was sandwiches.
I am auntie at heart and need to eat some “salty food” so I went ahead and ordered a serving of sandwich. :)
The food looked really cute (except that pink cake that looks too artificially pink).
Oh, and that aggressively pink whipped cream on our iced chocolate scares me too.

My iced strawberry tea was served in a Hello Kitty zippy-cup which I get to keep.
Maybe that explains why it costs us almost 40 SGD for that bit of food.
We had to collect the food on our own too. :(

The food was really quite bad.
And we couldn’t bring ourselves to eat too much of that ridiculously-pink cake.
I should have known – heard too many horror stories about the food at Hello Kitty cafes.

And because we are rebels, we did this.

No offence, Kitty. You know I still love you.

I forced A to take a picture with Hello Kitty too….

Thomas Erber28

Anyhoos, thank you A for walking into a Hello Kitty Cafe with me.
Now everyone knows you went to a Hello Kitty, you’re not that cool anymore.

This is what our faces will be like the next time we see a Hello Kitty Cafe:

LOL! And how it’ll be like the next time we see a mega gadget store:

I guess, opposite attracts ya? LMAO.

Hotel Muse x Le Cabinet de Curiosites

leave a comment »

Last weekend was a special one for me, being able to spend A’s birthday privately with her in Bangkok.
I think people might think we are mad at the rate we’re visiting Bangkok. Heh!
We just love this place too much!

During this visit, we also checked out Le Cabinet de Curiosites of Thomas Erber,
an internationally acclaimed annual exhibition, exploring both Thai and international arts.
It was a feast for the eyes!
This is the fifth year Le Cabinet de Curiosite was held and this time round,
it was hosted by Siwilai Concept Store and Central Embassy, a brand new luxury mall in the heart of Bangkok.

In this event, we saw more than 70 pieces consisting of a Lotus Arts de Vive crocodile sculpture,
pieces by Thai silk company Jim Thompson, a P-Tendercool haute manufactured table,
the lightest jacket ever made by Officine Generale, and an exclusive urban city bag by Maison Takuya.

It’s just way too cool!

Thomas Erber

Central Embassy was also like an art piece on its own – look at those beautiful and clean lines!

Thomas Erber1

This mall just blew my mind because to be honest, I’ve never seen SO many luxury brands under one roof in Bangkok!
There was also many beautiful cafes on the higher levels in Central Embassy, and Siwilai Concept Store can also be found in here.

I love Siwilai Concept Store. The selection of merchandise is superb and the whole feel of the store was fab!

Thomas Erber2
Thomas Erber3

Thank you Central Group for hosting us at the event! It was superb and a big treat for our eyes and minds!

– – –

A and I extended our stay because it was A’s birthday that week.
After searching high and low for the perfect hotel, we settled for Hotel Muse.
I chanced upon this hotel while I was searching for boutique hotels in Bangkok, this one caught my eye instantly.
I like how it is slightly European, near city but not in the middle of the hustle & bustle.

Thomas Erber4

The hotel interior was absolutely gorgeous.
For a while, I forgot that I was in Bangkok (until they started greeting me). :p
We know a lot of hotels always serve welcome drinks, Hotel Muse did so too,
but they served 4 shots instead of serving us 2 glasses of fruit punch!
2 of the 4 shots served was alcoholic – yum yum!

Thomas Erber5

The hotel room was clean and very comfortable to be in.
I am always very anal when it comes to hotel rooms, a room that works for me will definitely need to have a bathtub.
This one has one, and I can still watch the television when I’m having a bath!
The bathroom comes with audio system so I can enjoy my telly shows while soaking away.

A and I haven’t been to a cat cafe in Bangkok before.
And by some twist of events (we arrived at Talad Rot Fai too early), we ended up at Makura Cat Cafe!
It is at the street just right next to the entrance to Talad Rot Fai, so we went in to kill some time.

I don’t know why all the cats here are so cute.
We saw a couple of “street” cats in the cafe which was really nice!
They were being “pimped” (hahaha, in a way, they are right?) to act cute in front of customers but at least
the owners protect them with rules and regulations; and give them a good home. :)

Thomas Erber6
Thomas Erber7
Thomas Erber8

On our way back to the hotel, the taxi driver didn’t see the hotel and went a little further down the road.
As we were walking back, we heard some massive meowing down a dark alley.
A and I decided to just find out what’s going on and we found a little kitten stuck between two branches!
A carried it down and it immediately looked relieved!
We didn’t have any cat food on us so I went to a nearby convenience store hoping to get some cat food.
Sadly, they didn’t sell any cat food and I ended up with a can of tuna and some clean drinking water.

(A said everyone gave her dirty looks while I was away, as if she was some cat abuser)

Thomas Erber18

The kitten was so cute! It has no tail though, I hope it’s not the case of some psychotic cat abuser nearby.
Anyways, it really made our day, knowing that there is one less hungry cat in Lad Phrao are that night.
We spotted some dried cat food around so there must be feeders around.
Hope the little kitten will grow up into a strong boy.

– – –

I am usually the sort who would skip breakfast.
But having heard a lot about the breakfast served at Hotel Muse, we woke up bright and early the next day.

The breakfast spread was splendid – good range of western and Asian food, and they also have free flow of champagne!

Decadent. Mmm. But I like it! Heh! :p
It was served at the highest level of the hotel so the view was fab too!

Thomas Erber10
Thomas Erber9

That evening, we also had dinner at Medici, an Italian restaurant located at the basement of Hotel Muse.
We really weren’t expecting too much, thinking it was just a regular Italian restaurant.
But boy! We were so wrong!
It was really lavish and I really love the decor of the place.
The kitchen was an open-concept one so it was really a feast for our eyes,
as if we were watching Hell’s Kitchen or something. (But there wasn’t scolding la. Heh!)

Thomas Erber13
Thomas Erber14

Halfway through our meal, there were also live opera performances!
The singers just mingled amongst the guests and started singing. How cool right!

We had a beef carpaccio to share, my main was a white truffle pasta (it was SO AROMATIC AND TASTY!),
and A had her favourite steak, cooked to perfection!

Thomas Erber15

The prices were pretty affordable for the standard of the food served.
The Head Chef also took time to make small talks to the guests and explained more about the food that we had.

Their desserts were so freaking good too!

We really couldn’t ask for a better birthday dinner for A! <3

After dinner, we also had drinks at SpeakEasy, a rooftop bar located in Hotel Muse itself.
I think A and I are starting to enjoy just chilling around instead of hardcore partying as we get older.
SpeakEasy is a gorgeous place, and I really love the view of the domed roofs of Hotel Muse!

Thomas Erber12
Thomas Erber11
Thomas Erber19

I’ll put up another blog post for another two “cat cafes” we visited and also the Alpaca Cafe soon!
See you in three days! :p

#DFW Insiders

leave a comment »

If you follow me (and a few other bloggers) on Instagram, then Digital Fashion Week would be not unfamiliar to you.
I am really happy to be one of the few bloggers on the DFW journey,
not because it means I am better than other because there are obviously
SO MANY GAZILLION better bloggers than me in Singapore, but because I’ve never done anything like that before.
It was a really good experience and I got to know some of the bloggers a bit better (and loving it).
Because of DFW, I also got to meet like-minded people from all over the world.
And they are all so darn cool.

So for the record, thank you Digital Fashion Week and Nuffnang Singapore.

This is not an advertisement so I do apologise in advance if it seems a little haphazard.
(It’s 3am now and it’s almost bed time)

DFW started in Singapore and I got to know so many of the amazing local designers!
Ok, not know the designers per se, more of get to see their designs and learn more about them.
Some of my favourites are Max Tan (his stuff are SO cool), In Good Company and Thomas Wee.
I am also very proud of my friend Linda for her great works and design for her label, Yesah. :)

OK, can I also please take this opportunity to thank Shunji Matsuo for looking after my tresses?
Caely, Director of from Shunji Matsuo 313 is always so patient with me,
and is never demanding over absolutely ANYTHING.
I have to say it is really fortunate of me to meet her, she’s just different from the other hair sponsors I had.

So THANK YOU CAELY & Shunji Matsuo 313! You da best!IMG_0870

They always say “Girl Power”, and for me, it is exceptionally prominent during that special time of the month.
If you know what I’m talking about, and have once experienced that awful thing called “menstrual cramp”,
you would definitely agree with me.

A couple of weeks back, I had the opportunity to attend a talk by Dr Yong Yoke Fai from NUHS and
learnt more about how menstrual cramps could just be one of the many symptoms of more serious problems
like endometriosis.
Immediately after the talk, I shared the information I’ve learnt with A,
and it was only then when I found out that she actually had this same condition a few years back before I met her.

Why curl up in bed and suffer in silence? :(
Let me share what I’ve learnt with you!

Ten Things You Thought You Knew About Lesbians

leave a comment »

…But You Don’t.

I have once had a “friend” come up to me and asked me in the face why I chose to be a lesbian,
and is it whether because I don’t like cocks.

Maybe she thought she had a good sense of humour, but I was honestly quite offended
because I’m quite sure she wasn’t talking about the rooster.

And because a person with higher EQ would know how to choose his/her words more carefully,
not in this insensitive and an almost-mocking manner.
I hope she didn’t go around asking her childless female friends why they do not have children,
and whether it is because they don’t like their husbands’ penises.

See what I mean?
These are personal choices, no?
This “friend” I have is just thick. Period.

– – –

I think the lesbians are pretty misunderstood.
After a survey with my lesbian friends (firstly, no, lesbians do not only have lesbian friends), we came up with a list. Read the rest of this entry »

Sensodyne True White

leave a comment »

My pearly whites are very precious to me, because I believe having clean and neat teeth
will help make someone look clean, fresh and polished.
That is why my toothpastes are always whitening ones, and I also visit a dentist
to have my teeth whitened whenever I feel there is a need to.
But because I also have sensitive teeth, I sometimes have to alternate between using
sensitivity toothpaste and one for whitening.

Screen Shot 2014-10-02 at 3.12.32 pm

What I really like about Sensodyne True White toothpaste is how
it is both a toothpaste that whitens my teeth and helps it cope with sensitivity.
For those lucky few with no sensitivity issues, you can really cannot imagine how annoying (and painful)
it is to be struck by a sudden wave of “shock” when devouring your favourite gelato or
when you’re drinking iced water from a cup without using a straw. *wails*

And because I have bruxism, I uncontrollably grind my teeth at night and it has indirectly
caused my teeth to become increasingly sensitive over time;
prolly because I am gradually grinding away the enamel on my teeth. I know it sounds scary. Hahaha!

I also LOVE the package they sent me. Brand new toothbrush, Sensodyne True White toothpaste
and a bottle of Moscato to celebrate my new discovery of an awesome new toothpaste that
I’ll be stocking up hereforth! :p

Screen Shot 2014-10-02 at 3.12.24 pm
Screen Shot 2014-10-02 at 3.12.17 pm

Heh heh! You cannot see the toothbrush and toothpaste in here because I’m using them now already lah!

Screen Shot 2014-10-02 at 3.12.08 pm

Sensodyne True White has been clinically proven to be super gentle and
is 10 times less abrasive than many everyday-whitening toothpastes!
Totally helps since I don’t need more abrasion on my teeth please. Haha!

TrueWhite.com.sg is now also running a digital campaign called #TrueWhiteStyle.
You can visit the website above to follow the behind-the-scenes of the campaign and
be entertained and see how Drea and Rachel did the shoots for the campaign,
photographed by renowned photographer Russel Wong!

Till then, don’t forget to head on down to the nearest drugstore or supermarket to grab your first tube of Sensodyne True White!

Travel Made Different – Venice

leave a comment »

Wanderlust is seriously kicking in right now, as I browse through the photos
taken during the recent trip to Italy. It is my first time to Venice, I know it’s long overdue,
but please allow me to put these wonderful memories up on my blog so I can always come back to read about them.

A lot of people tell me that Venice is a romantic city.
May I please also add that this is such a unique city with so much to offer culturally and ahem, “materialistically”. Haha! The first thought that came to my mind while weaving around Venice is
“Wow! That’s a lot of big labels in such a tiny city!”.
If you’re looking for some serious shopping, Venice is definitely the place to be at.

And of course, when you’re in Venice, how can you possibly miss being in Piazza San Marco (St Mark’s Square)?

This place is picture perfect (minus the hordes of tourists).

Screen Shot 2014-09-27 at 4.12.32 pm
Screen Shot 2014-09-27 at 4.12.59 pm

A must-do when you’re in Venice. Visit St Mark’s Square in the middle of the night.
I know this sounds crazy, but I heard that it is a magical sight.
Yes, I haven’t done it yet because it’s not easy to wake me up after I’ve fallen asleep.
Will do it the next time I’m there. Heh!

Screen Shot 2014-09-27 at 4.13.07 pm

When in Venice, roam around without a map and take in the sights and sounds.
Venice is a really small city but trust me, even if you walk with a map,
you might lose your way too because the buildings all look almost the same (to me at least)!
The streets are old but charming and the there is a picture-perfect corner every 15 mins.

I love exploring new places because there is always something new to see, always something interesting I’d find.
I love the sights and sounds in Venice!

Screen Shot 2014-09-27 at 4.14.50 pm

These are made of Murano glass! And of course, how can I possibly leave Venice
without some Murano glass accessories for myself?

Unfortunately, I only had one and a half full days in Venice.
I think it would be great to visit Murano to learn more about the making of the famed Murano glass
if you have more time in Venice the next time you visit.

When we were there, we also took a gondola. It set us back by about 80 euros –
pretty expensive for a 15-min ride if you ask me.
But I really respect how much effort the gondoliers put into maintaining their gondolas
and the dedication they have for their work. Most of the occupants in Venice are in tourism industry.
If I was born a Venetian, I don’t mind being a female gondolier! Do they allow that? Haha.
I need to read up more about them!

Our gondola headed out to the open seas!

And gave us a nice view of St Mark’s Basilica!

Screen Shot 2014-09-27 at 4.16.33 pm

On the way back, we also cruised by Ponte dei Sospiri, also known as the Bridge of Sighs.

Screen Shot 2014-09-27 at 4.16.44 pm

This bridge has a beautiful and tragic story, it was said that the view from this bridge
is the last view of Venice that prisoners will see before their imprisonment.
As the bridge name suggests, prisoners will sigh at the beauty of Venice through the windows on the bridge
before taken down to their cells.
However, a local legend also said that lovers will be granted eternal love and bliss
if they kiss on a gondola at sunset under the Bridge of Sighs as the bells of St Mark’s Campanile toll.
That’s some skill needed for perfect timing man! No wonder they say true eternal love don’t come easy. Haha!

I hope that legend is not made up by some gondolier. I shall blindly buy beautiful legends.

Another renowned bridge we visited was the Rialto Bridge, one of the four bridges over the Grand Canal in Venice.

There are damages you see, and there are damages you don’t.

Based on this, Clinique has just presented their latest product, the Smart Custom-Repair Serum
(which I’m SO excited about!)

Heineken Cities Festival

leave a comment »

I am still in the festive mood as I scroll through and look at the pictures taken
at the recent Heineken Cities Festival.
For those of you who had missed the festival this year, the Heineken Cities Festival was a celebration
of the launch of the 6 Heineken City Edition bottles named after the top cities of the world –
Singapore, Amsterdam, Shanghai, London, New York and Rio de Janeiro.

I have never attended any parties like that in Singapore; the festival took place
along Club Street and Ann Siang Hill. Yes, ON THE STREETS!
The whole area was decorated with the flags of the different countries where the cities are from,
and littered with street performers and icons representing the 6 cities.

Heroes Phuket Trip

leave a comment »

It almost feels like it was yesterday when the cafe just started – us doodling on the walls,
scampering all around like headless chickens trying to make sure things go smoothly in the cafe,
doing everything in the cafe on our own because we are constantly short-handed.

How time flies.
The Tiramisu Hero Cafe is almost one.

We organised a little getaway for our staff to a fancy villa in Phuket to celebrate and
to reward our staff for always being so awesome.
This is a little wefie shot of us at the airport!
All thanks to my brand new SONY Xperia C3, I managed to squeeze all 12 of us in a photo.

I’m sure I can squeeze another 7-8 people in if there was more of us. :p

Drink Milk Fresh!

leave a comment »

Ask me about fresh milk.

When I was preparing for the opening of my café, I sampled so many different kinds of
fresh milk available in the Singapore market, now I can name the brand just by drinking a sip.
Heh! Not that amazing yet, but I have a pretty good idea what are the better brands that we can trust.
(And which one tastes better with a good espresso shot) :p

When tasked to educate my readers about the importance of freshness of milk,
I am proud and thrilled because I know how crucial it is to choose good quality and fresh dairy products.

But before I begin, I think we should all know the importance of drinking fresh milk!

I Love iMyBags!

Screen Shot 2014-09-04 at 7.37.19 pm

My complicated love/hate relationship with bags goes way back.
Love; because they are just such awesome arm candies and have the ability to complete any outfit.
Hate: because they very often burn a hole in my pocket, and it’s so troublesome to find somewhere
where I can shop for all the brands I like (either that, or I’ll have to pay a hefty shipping fee).

Florence 2014

leave a comment »

Florence is just absolutely gorgeous, laid-back and friendly!

It is my second time to Italy but my first time to Florence.
I’ve heard so much about Florence from A because she is so in love with this city.
She calls it a very “liveable city”, full of nice people and not as flooded with tourists compared to Rome.

Florence is quiet, small and cosy to be in, but for me, it was the day trips we took from Florence totally blew my mind.
They had so much to offer and were so different from what I had experienced in Rome. Read the rest of this entry »

Rome 2014 I

with one comment

I have this indescribable urge to visit Europe every once in a while.
August 2014 was quite an eventful month for me because I not only get to spend my 29th birthday in Italy,
I also got to travel with not just A, but also Mom and one of my favourite aunts. :)

Chateau TCC 51967

For a start, I would like to publicly proclaim my love for these black and white houses.
They are SO pretty!

Dinner last night was at Ki-Sho, a fine Japanese restaurant along Scotts Road.
But before I tempt you to death with the pictures of the food they serve,
I would like to thank ROOM Apparel for gifting me my current fave jacket!
Love the use of two different fabrics. Love the cut. Love the fit!
ROOM is giving 20% discount to their items (excludes consignment items) right now, just quote SIXPEGS. :)

Thank you Caely from Shunji Matsuo 313 for the cut and colour too!
Totally digging it, big time!

The Encounter

leave a comment »

Before I begin, can I please say that I’m not getting paid a single cent to promote this.

My tiramisu gang and I checked out The Encounter and it was a freaking awesome Escape Room!
I haven’t been to a lot of escape rooms (only this one and another one called Trapped.sg),
and Encounter really blew my mind!

We look pretty garang all decked up in our uniforms ya? :p

My Clinique Experience

leave a comment »

Healthy skin is the one thing that everyone dreams of having.
To me, no amount of cosmetics is going to give me the confidence I get from having a clear and healthy complexion.

Let’s talk about the basis of skin care.
Before all of those whitening, hydrating, anti-aging concerns,
we must first make sure that we have a good cleansing regime.
There are countless skin care products developed by different brands in different parts of the world.
But when I hear that a skin care brand is developed by a team of leading dermatologists,
I know I’m in good hands.

My first encounter with Clinique was when I first met A, she has been using Clinique since she was 15.
(Yes, 15!) I always thought that she has been blessed with good skin, but apparently,
her skin type is sensitive and there are not a lot of skin care brands that work for her.

Italy Summer Packing List

leave a comment »

Screen Shot 2014-07-21 at 6.46.34 pm

My Italy vacay starts tomorrow and I am jotting down all the stuff I need to pack for the trip.
I find it extremely bothersome to have to pack for a trip (especially a long one) without a packing list.
Do you have the same problem?

And since I foresee myself going for many, many more trips in future.
I shall put up my packing list online so I won’t have to make new lists in the future. *genius*
If you’re the worry wart sort and want to make sure you didn’t miss out anything,
