Phuket 2010

with 55 comments

As you all may have already known, I was in Phuket over the weekend.
It was a sponsored trip by Andara Phuket Resort (thanks so much for the generosity).
The trip is totally amazing!!
As a matter of fact, amazing would be an understatement to
describe the kind of service and hospitality we received when we were there.

Okay first thing first, Buttons and I missed our flight to Phuket on Friday because we overslept.
That’s like our biggest problem for every single one of our oversea trips seriously.
Because of our oversleeping tendencies, we almost missed our Bangkok flight,
we missed our Kuchi (forgot how to spell that already) Tunnel tour in Vietnam,
we were too late to book our ferry at Batam,
and missed many many wonderful mornings no matter where we went to. Hahaha!

Oh well, but this is the first time we TOTALLY missed our flight. Sobs.
We rushed down to the airport and we only arrived at 15 mins before the scheduled take-off time.
Fortunately, we managed to book 2 seats in the next flight to Phuket.
And because of this, we had to wait 12 hours. (So we went back home to continue sleeping)
Well, but we were all still very ZEN despite missing our flight. Hahahaha!
Went for a nice breakfast at the airport as we continued bickering about who’s to blame for us oversleeping.
He is such an annoying boy!

But it wasn’t too long before we’re officially on our Phuket-bound flight. :)
Super super super excited!

When we arrived at the airport, we were being welcomed by this immaculately dressed lady from Andara.
She brought us to this express queue which says ‘Thai Diplomats only’ & we got to cut ALL the queues!
That’s totally, totally amazing. Buttons and I were totally owned man!
We were chauffeured to Andara Resort in this huge luxurious car.
They were really very thoughtful too, to give us nice scented cold towels and chilled water for the car journey.
5 stars for service!

But the amazement doesn’t just stop there, when we arrived at the lobby, we were blown away.

And to top all that awesomeness, our suite is really impressive!
Andara is really generous and gave us a 3 bedroom Pool Penthouse Suite.
The suite is just really fabulous. I have never stayed in such a beautiful suite before!
It comes with a fully-equipped stylish kitchen, huge living area,
3 bedrooms (all attached with a washroom), and a private pool!
All the sound systems were from Bose! It drove Buttons totally crazy! Hahaha.

Because of the mad rush and exhilaration from seeing our too-good-to-be-true suite, we got hungry. :p
Hehehe. We were expecting the room service to be something ‘normal’,
but MY GOODNESS the food from room service is super fantastic!
The attendants will lay the food out properly for you, and all the food is all nice and hot.
They serve Wagyu Beef Burger for room service at 2am, can you believe it?!
And that pita bread cracker thing is mad shiokness!

The room comes with a fresh fruit plate too! My dear Buttons is cutting fruits for us here. :D

We had breakfast at SILK Restaurant – one of the finest Thai Restaurants in Thailand!
The food was, as usual, awesome!!

I love my salmon and egg breakfast!

The e-marketing Manager Mot later came to join us with his assistant, and brought us around the place.
They were really nice and friendly & it makes Buttons and I so comfortable hanging out with them!
We arrived at the Beach Club (just 5 mins away) and it’s really very pretty with white shelters and deck beds!
Sea. Sand. Sun. I love it!

Check out the rainbow around the sun!

Another candid shot by Mot. Buttons’ tee shirt shoutout is damn wrong lah! Lol!

They later also brought us to check out the villas in Andara.
THEY ARE SO HUGE AND GORGEOUS! I think I won’t be able to afford one no matter how hard I work.
The view up there is really, really breathtaking!
Mot is really nice to help us take lots of pictures with his super pro Nikon camera too! Hehe.

Looks exactly like those on the Andara website. What you see is what you get, people! :)

We spent the rest of the afternoon lounging around at our private pool area. :)
I love it!

It can get a little tiring trying to act chio all afternoon so here’s a usual retarded face. Hoohoo!

Lunch followed by Patong.
To be honest, I am not very impressed with Patong.
The whole area just reminds me of Khaosan in Bangkok, and I’m not a fan of Khaosan at all.
So the thing I find most fascinating about Patong are these sleeping birds on the antennas.
There are so many of them!
I was wondering… is that why the signboard there got a logo of a bird? :p

Day 3 was really short for us, especially because we missed the whole first day.
Sigh. After knowing how awesome the resort is, we really hate ourselves for oversleeping. :c
We decided to stay in our suite and hang out at our pool again.
This time, we’ve got chilled beers and junk food from Patong. It was so perfect!

Buttons having fun swimming around while I try to do sexy splashing shots (that ended up disastrous) :x
We were skinny dipping and tanning naked. Hahaha! Super liberating.

The resort allows late checkout if the rooms are available – that means you can leave as late as 5pm!
But for us, they are really nice to extend it until 7pm. Perfect for our 10pm flight.
And as usual, the car trip back to the airport is smooth and enjoyable.
When we arrived at the airport, there were ushers to bring us around and also helped us with our barangs.
We were even brought to this premier lounge where we enjoyed great food and even shoulder massages!
They never fail to impress us with their attention to details. :)

Our Phuket trip is truly awesome. And all these will never ben able to happen to us without Andara’s great service and hospitality.
If you are also looking for a great experience in Phuket, you really HAVE to check Andara out.
I can assure you, NO REGRETS! :D
Andara Resort’s official website can be found here.
Do check back often for promotions.
And also don’t forget to check out the Exclusive Fast Track Airport Service to cut all the queues at airports!
Andara can also be found on Facebook and Twitter!
