I watched Paranormal Activity with Buttons last night, all curled up under my sheets.
Everyone around me has been telling me how freaky it is,
and even Button’s elder brother said that it’s really worth watching.
According to Buttons, his brother is like the Guru of all horror flicks,
so if he said that it’s good, it definitely won’t be anywhere near bad.

So after mustering all my courage, we finally got together to watch the show in the middle of the night.

To be honest, I was hiding behind the sheets half the time.
And used the blanket to cover my entire face, revealing only 2 square centimeters at the corner of my eye to watch.
HAHAHAHA.
That’s really how freaky it is!

The sound effects used in the movie is very minimal.
There are no gory scenes and not much sudden movements to shock you,
but it is THAT exact silence and stillness that makes you imagine so much that you’re freaking yourself out.

After watching the movie, I’m secretly happy that I live in a HDB.
I think I’ll be freaked out at every corner if I live in a house as big as the one in the movie.
Like what Buttons said, “Imagine if they have a version shot in a HDB flat, it’ll really scare the shit out of us!”
I totally agree!

The amazing thing is, this movie is only shot with a US$15,000 budget!
I’m sure it is already making millions of dollars by now.
Well, it shows that low budget and indie movies can be fantastic as well.
I shall invest a video camera and start filming right away.

I rate Paranormal Activity 5 Sweaty Armpits!

I had a makeover yesterday & I totally love my makeover!
Honestly, I haven’t been dolling myself up of late and it’s nice to look pretty again.
Hehehe.
The makeup artist is really helpful and skillful too!
She also gave me some of her exclusive cosmetics that are imported from US.
They’re really pretty! I will post up some more updates and details in early December.

I am proud to be invited to Phillip Wain to try out some of their most awesome treatments!
It has been quite a stressful period for me of late and these pampering treatments really came at the right time.
Phillip Wain is located at Level 4 in United Square, which is really near my house!
Well I guess it won’t be too far from anyone’s house since it’s located in the heart of Singapore.
Anyway, it was a very pleasant experience at Phillip Wain and I’m here to share my first visit today.

When I first stepped into Phillip Wain, I was immediately greeted by friendly receptionists.
The place is always bustling with activity, filled with healthy looking people. :p
I was invited into one of the consultation rooms and
met up with marketing executive Yen Lin and one of their trainer, Eelyn.
They assessed my skin and body professionally and came up with a series of treatments for me.

I’m really thrilled!

For the first visit, I received a Chocolate Spa Retreat!
I know, it sounds super delicious right?
Well, it was really pampering and smells too good to be true.
But before I give you the details, shall bring you around the place so you know how it’s like there.

The bath and changing area is spacious and definitely have sufficient room for members.
There are ample lockers, dressing area for everyone, and also a steam room and sauna room for members!
Another thing wonderful about Phillip Wain is, it is only for ladies!
So you don’t have to feel awkward or uneasy when you’re walking around the place in your comfy robes.

Here is the yoga studio.
Phillip Wain boasts of a great array of different yoga classes like Yin Yoga, BuZen Yoga, Hatha Yoga, etc.
Classes of various difficulty levels are made available everyday for the entire week.

There is wireless network available in the whole of Phillip Wain.
Along the walkways, there are many seats for members to sit and just chill the afternoons away.
Whether you like it indoors or alfresco, it’s all available.
If you want to shop for some skincare products or gym wear, fret not.
Because they are all available here too!

As for the spa treatment I was getting, I swear it was totally awesome!

It began with a Chocolate Body Scrub to exfoliate while
fortifying my skin with minerals and vitamins from cocoa extract.
I then received a relaxing massage using collagen cream with sweet almond oil which
helps to improve my skin’s suppleness.
The treatment ended on a high note with an ultra-pampering spa experience
with a Chocolate Cocoon Body Wrap to allow complete absorption
of all the rich minerals and vitamins as heat wrap effectively combats water retention
and caffeine boost aids in slimming therefore improves silhouette and smooth the appearance of orange-peel skin.

I really enjoyed the treatments very much.
To me, I think Phillip Wain is successful not only because of it has a great place with great facilities,
but also because of their group of trained and professional therapists who are always ever ready to give you more tips on healthy and beautiful living!
For me, I have not only learnt more about water retention in our bodies,
and more tips on taking good care of our skin!
Everyone in here are exceptionally friendly, from the counter receptionists to ladies who are in charge of keeping the place spick and span.
And to wrap up my first experience at Phillip Wain in one word, it would definitely be “wonderful”.

I’m finally back from my Batam trip with Buttons!
It’s my first time at Batam and although I have to admit that the resort is not really that impressive,
the staff at Harris Resort are really very friendly!

The trip was really short lived but I really enjoyed myself with Buttons. :)
We were both really busy so this short trip was perfect for us.
You guys must be wondering why did we go on this trip suddenly.
It’s actually just a short trip to celebrate our One-Year-Old Friendship!
We met almost a year ago in school and this is just a small celebration to remind us of that day again.

Here is a picture of Maliboo just before I brought her out to the dog sitter’s place.
I really love my dog sitter Esther, always so friendly and trustworthy!
She lives really near Buttons so it’s very convenient for us too. :)

Here is Buttons and I on the ferry to Batam.
You’ll probably be disappointed if you’re expecting a lot of pictures in this entry.
I’m getting a little lazy with taking pictures lately.
Probably because I’m feeling fat, don’t really feel like taking pictures also. Bad.

I took my favourite mini suitcase on this trip.
When I first saw this suitcase, I fell deep in love with it!
When I saw it in the shop, the price tag on the suitcase stated “Runaway Suitcase”!
How cute, right? :p
I love running away!

And yes I’ve got a big bruise on my thigh. :x

I went for some treatment for my face few days ago at Phillip Wain,
and I got some really precious advice on how to take good care of my face.
To my horror, I realised that I’ve really been treating my skin in a really bad way.
So for the whole of my Batam vacation, I insisted not putting on any makeup except for drawing my brows and mascara.

As a result, I really looked quite horrible throughout the trip.

Here is a picture of part of the spa room in Harris Resort.
The building where the spa is located is actually really old!
But to our surprise, the spa itself is really nicely decorated and the service staff are all very friendly.
The treatment rooms were pretty and comfortable to be in as well.
So Buttons and I were really happy with the spa treatments we’ve received.
It’s really good too because they have a lot of couple treatment rooms available. :)

Pardon my messy bed.
I only remembered to take pictures after everything was over! :p

We totally forgot about booking our return ferry tickets on the first day.
And by the time we remembered on the second day, the earlier ferry tickets were all gone!
Buttons had to miss a dinner appointment with his friend and we had to spend around 3 hours doing nothing!
But to be honest, I am kind of happy that we missed the earlier ferries.
Buttons and I had a quiet lunch and had the whole 3 hours to ourselves,
we play badminton by the pool, sat around and chit chat,
and even went for a dip in the pool even though he didn’t bring his swimming trunks!
Hahahaha.

Thank god we missed the ferry.
I love my Buttons.

I chanced upon an article online regarding names.
I’m sure almost everyone will go through a phase in life where one will totally hate one’s own name.
Well, I can’t say this happens to all people but I sure felt this way
when this “Bookworm Auntie” came to my primary school when I was 9,
and told the whole school at the Wednesday morning assembly performance that her name is Auntie Peggy!

Really felt like dying then.

I have been called names throughout my whole childhood and teenhood as well.
And I’m sure it’s not hard to guess what they call me – PIGGY.
Peggy do sound like Piggy, and it even looks like Piggy.

When I was a teen, I would go find out what my name means too.
Some of the names has the most beautiful meanings.
Like for instance, Amanda means she is “fit to be loved” or “lovable”.

Unfortunately my name doesn’t have one of these beautiful definitions, Peggy is known as the nickname of “Margaret”.
And basically it means pearl.
When I hear the name Margaret, I can only think of Margaret Thatcher.
And you should know how kids always link pearls to being old and gray!
So since young, I have never really liked my name.

I googled a little and found a few studies and discussions about sexy names.
I think it is inevitable that everyone will have different impressions on names.
Like for me, Matilda sounds smart. Courtney sounds slutty. Susan sounds old fashioned.
(Sorry if you’re a Matilda, Courtney or Susan!)

Believe it or not, there are actually studies done to conclude why some names exude more sex appeal!

“Men with short vowel names, such as Bill, Tucker or Keith are perceived as sexier by the ladies.
But for women, it’s the reverse.
Names with longer vowels, vowels you make in the back of your mouth like Sofia and Laura,
are considered dreamier compared to names like Nicole or Hanna.”
(Actually I don’t really understand this!)

But whatever it is, I don’t know how much truth there is to this little study.
I guess whether a name is sexy or not is pretty subjective and depends a lot on our individual experiences.
For example, if I have a bad relationship with someone called Fabian,
I’d obviously have a bad impression of the name and link all other Fabians to the one I know.
Agree?

But whatever the case is, I know Peggy will never be perceived as being sexy. Oink!
HAHAHA.

I just booked a ticket to leave Singapore again.
But this time, it’s just to Batam for one day! Hahaha.

Buttons and I will be spending the one night at Harris Resort.
Initially, we were considering between going Batam or staying a night at Amara Sentosa Singapore.
Did a small poll on Twitter and everyone said I should go Batam instead since it’s cheap and away from the city.
My friend even said “Get out of the country whenever and wherever possible!”
How true. I very much agree!

Thus, we’ll be going TOMORROW!

I have never been to Batam before.
And when I think of Batam, all that comes to mind will be
middle age Singaporean men who go there once a fortnight to visit their “second families”.
I’ve heard some bad and good raves about Harris Resort, but hopefully it won’t turn out as bad as I would have imagined!

For this week, I’ve chosen something I saw in a magazine couple days ago.
Some of the information given were a little bit shocking, hope it’ll be helpful to you too! :)

Top Ten Germiest Places You Least Expected

1. Your kitchen sink

Kitchen sinks are dirtier than most bathrooms!
There are typically more than 500,000 bacteria per square inch in the drain.
My goodness, can you imagine that piece of sponge you use to wash your dishes! *gags*

2. Airplane bathrooms

This is probably not much of a surprise since toilets are like one of the germiest place on earth.
But imagine the tiny toilet on an aircraft which is visited by so many people within a short period of time.
And on top of that, experts found out that the volcanic flush will tend to spew particles into the air,
coating the floor, walls and everything in the small space, covering it with germs. Eew.

3. A load of wet laundry

To be honest, I’m a little surprised!
Is that the reason why our clothes will smell so bad if it is being left to dry without sunlight?
Whatever it is, it sure is hard to imagine that freshly washed clothes are actually filled with E. coli bacteria all over!

4. Public drinking fountains

Or what the Singaporeans call “water coolers”.
Disgusting. I used to really like these coolers when I was in school!
There are between 62,000 to 2.7 million bacteria per square inch on the spigot,
and among most places, drinking fountains placed in schools are normally the germiest!

5. Shopping cart handles

Saliva, bacteria and faecal matter are some of the examples of the substances found on the handles.
Well it’s not hard to understand since these shopping carts are used by so many shoppers everyday.
Raw food carries a lot of nasty pathogens too.

6. ATM buttons

If you’re not careful, you might pick up more than quick cash from your local ATM.
Those buttons have more gunk on them than most public-bathroom doorknobs.
ATMs aren’t frequently cleaned, and they are regularly touched—a perfect combination for a lot of germs.

7. Your wallet and bags

When University of Arizona professor of environmental microbiology Charles Gerba tested women’s purses,
they found that most had tens of thousands of bacteria on the bottom
and a few were overrun with millions!
Another study found bugs like pseudomonas (which can cause eye infections) & staphylococcus which causes skin infections.
Oh my god! Gross.

8. Playgrounds

Children tend to ooze bodily fluids and then spread them around.
“When we sampled playgrounds, we were aghast at what we found – blood, mucus, saliva, urine,” Kelly Reynolds says.
I think that’s why the Roald Dahl Witches want to kill all these kids.

9. Mats and machines at health clubs

Before you used that machine at the gym, thousands of people had already left trails of sweat on the seats and handles.
Period.

10. Your bathtub

This is shocking, sad but true.
The place we go to get clean is actually really filthy.
As we’re washing the germs and viruses off our body, it stays in the tub and continues breeding there in the moist environment.
Thank God I don’t use a tub!

I’m ill and am feeling needy.
This sucks.

I LOVE HER! :D

I booked a cab to take me to United Square for the spa session today because it was pouring heavily.
After I alighted at my destination, my phone beeped and the message reads -

(anyway, it’s really time to charge my phone! :p)

I don’t know whether to feel annoyed or amused.

Annoyed because that phone number was given to the driver just in case he need to give me a call when the cab arrives,
not for him to sms me to “keep in touch”!
Or amused, because I now have an awesomely funny experience of “picked up” by taxi uncle.

I have to state clearly though, that I didn’t talk much to the driver on my way to United Square.

Okay, maybe he’s just trying to be friendly. Whatever!

Lately, I have been thinking a lot about doing up my website.
I need a website which allows me to do more alterations to the layout and settings.
I have a lot of new ideas for making my website more attractive and interactive,

Happy Halloween to all you party animals out there!
I know this greeting is a little late, but I’m sure you won’t mind.
For this year’s Halloween, I’ve had a great deal of fun with Buttons and my other friends on board the Halloween bus.
It started from Balaclava and took us to OverEasy, St James, Wave House and last stop at Social House.

Buttons was a little apprehensive about dressing up for Halloween at first.
Well, to be honest, it wasn’t really his kinda thing!
He has never been to any Halloween parties before and as for dressing up, it’s his first time too! :p
But he said that it was quite fun walking around in weird costumes, and we were even discussing what to wear next year!

This year, Buttons went as Mozart (even Halloween also need to be so musical, tsk) & I’m there as Mrs Muthu – the curry mistress.

We joined Alvin Leong and gang at Balaclava at around 8 plus and the party is already well on its way when we reached!
There were so many interesting characters there but our favourite is still Edward Scissorshand & Mystique from the X-Men!
They were SO frigging cool!

Although we didn’t get really close (maybe because I’m too caught up looking at her face), I still found her really nice!
She is so real and unpretentious, so fun loving and spontaneous.
I’d do anything to get those cheekbones she has!

Beatrice Tan

I first met Beatrice at Channel U’s Hey Gorgeous! competition.
Even at the first time I saw her when I walked into the meeting room, I couldn’t take my eyes off her!
She has an amazing smile and cheekbones every girl dreams to have.
And on top of that, she has a really good personality as well.
She is humble and also really personable.
In a nutshell, Beatrice really got the whole package.

Emileen Lim

I met at The New Paper New Face competition as well.
She’s bubbly and really a great deal of fun to hang out with.

Genecia Luo

I met Genecia many years ago on a modeling assignment.
And later in more recent years, we were both involved in a TVC for Vanilla magazine.
She is really gorgeous in real life.

To me, I think Genecia is pretty inside and out.

Nargis was the winner of The New Paper New Face competition in the year I took part in.
This girl is just fierce.
Nargis got the most stunning walk, most stunning face and most genuine personality.
She is now doing really well in the modeling arena & I’m sure she will go far! :)

Victoria Galistan

Victoria Galistan was like an angel when she first appeared at Hall 2 in NTU during our Orientation Camp.
We were all stinky and dirty, and looking nerdy in our hall tee shirts when she appeared in the wee hours in hall to send porridge to her boyfriend.
Victoria is a great friend and is it is always so easy to strike up a conversation with her.
She is bubbly and undeniably gorgeous – undoubtedly the prettiest Singapore Girl I’ve ever seen. :)

I hope those girls I didn’t mention don’t ditch our friendship after reading this entry.

OKAY. This is scary.

I am proud to be one of the bloggers invited to cover the exciting Halloween Sales at The Blogshop.
It was my first time there and I was really excited about it because I’ve heard a lot about it.
Being a crazy fan of virtual blogshop shopping, it’s almost like a dream come true to have all the blogshops gather under one roof!

When I arrived at Haji Lane, it wasn’t hard to notice that there are posters all along the street promoting the Halloween Sales!
And mind you, it’s 20% storewide! :)
It’s really a great shopping opportunity because you can now get 20% for your purchases,
and this 20% is not even available on the blogshops’ individual websites!
The Blogshop was also tastefully decorated with Halloween decor,
but it was a pity because I was there too early and the decoration weren’t really completed yet.
The shop assistants were also dressed in their Halloween getups to bring the Halloween atmosphere to a higher level!

The Blogshop has two levels – the ground floor housed accessories and bags and other little trinkets,
while level two has loads and LOADS of clothes which will completely drive you crazy!
There are a lot of blogshops featured under this one roof, and it makes shopping so easy.
Just look at the amount of clothes available!
According to the shop owner, respective blogshop owners drop by twice a week to replenish their stocks.
And on days when business is better, it may get even more often.
So it ensures that shoppers at The Blogshop will always get up-to-date products from these blogshops!

There are a couple of other shops which also uses this “gathering the blogshops” concept.
But something different about The Blogshop at 35 Haji Lane is that it also houses lots of accessories for sales.
Everything from handbags, shoes, accessories, postcards and even cameras – it’s now all available here.
There shall be no more worries about getting the wrong size or getting disappointed when you receive your item in your mailbox
because you can now feel and hold these items in your own hands before bringing them home!

According to the shop assistants, the crowd appears mostly in the evenings when the workday is over.
But because it was a Sunday when I visited The Blogshop, it was getting rather crowded even at 3pm in the afternoon.
If you’re worried about space, please fret not!
Because there are also sufficient fitting rooms for customers who’d like to try on the clothes on sales.
When I was there at the shop, there are also 3 shop assistants available to help the customers & make them feel at home.
And the best of all, these girls are really friendly & I’ve really had a great time shopping there!

After 1 short hour in the shop, I bought a clutch bag, a jacket, 2 blouses and a Holga camera and camera flash!
I really love my purchases, and if I have to pick the most awesome one,
it definitely has to be the Holga camera that came home with me!

It’s really adorable and after I went to google the kind of pictures produced by a Holga,
I just can’t help but fall deeper in love with it! :)

I always thought I’m kinda like an arts idiot when it comes to such concerts.
but surprisingly, their music are great for commoners like me too.
They also sold music to pop singers like Jolin Tsai and Vivian Hsu.
I like 如果不想要 by Jolin Tsai, written by Shaoying, & Shaosuan’s Morning Blues was a breath of fresh air too! :)

I’m wearing my new shoes – I really adore them!

And look at how excited and anxious Buttons is about his new ipod touch after we go home.
I’m really glad he likes it as much as I like mine! :)
Looks like it’s money well spent!

Buttons bought me a new watch from Kenneth Cole as well.
People who know me well will know that I don’t have a proper watch.
They are mostly cheap and filmsy ones from Casio or something equivalent.
And I’m the kind of person who is not willing to spend too much on a watch, so seriously,
this watch is like a biggest deal on my watch rack now!

After all those lecture and life lessons about love and pubic hair, here’s something more about my everyday life.
I AM OFFICIALLY SUPER BROKE NOW!
But honestly, I’m poor and happy. :D
We girls can’t always hang around and wait for the men to make us happy,
SO we should really try to pamper ourselves once in a while.
I know I just bought my Macbook not too long ago,
but I walked into Agnes B earlier today and saw this pretty purse!
It was love at first sight!

Here is my old Gucci purse, the-one-who-shall-not-speak-of gave it to me some time ago.
It’s actually very pretty and still in a good condition!
And it’s pretty because I picked it. *ahem*

But well, I really like this purse too.

But there is too little room for cards and I’ve got a lot of random discount cards and crappy stuff in my purse,
so I really need more space for cards! :x
The coin compartment is really small too and when I get too much coins (which is often),
the purse bulges into a weird shape which is really ugly!
The coin compartment is now already a bit out of shape.

AND SO, HERE IS MY NEW BABY!

I swear it’s so much prettier in real life!
It’s made of PVC material but not the super super glossy kind of PVC so I really love it!
The coin compartment is big and spacious.
And most importantly, there is room for MORE cards! :D

Halloween is just round the corner and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Halloween parties!
I was walking around in Plaza Singapura today and went into Spotlight.
They have got some cheap and cute wigs for sale!
I bought two for only $25! What a steal! :D

Right after I reached home, I threw them on and start camwhoring.
(even before changing my purses!)
HAHAHAHAHA!

Here’s one of them.
It’s supposed to be a hippie wig!
Wear some long flowy skirt, lots of accessories, thin head band and hold a ciggie and look like a hippie instantly!

But. My brother said I look like Michael Jackson here! :x

And in this picture! I thought I resemble the scary-version of someone also.
But it’s a bit inconvenient to say it here, so do make a few guesses if you see the resemblance too!

But I just couldn’t resist it since it’s her!
But whatever, it’s so cheap! :p

Why is pubic hair curly?

As you might know, all hair grows in hair follicles. Follicles are like tiny holes beneath surface of the skin.
They have an opening at the surface of the skin.
(“Blackheads” and “whiteheads” are follicles whose openings are plugged up)
Hair follicles exist all over our bodies.
The shape of the hair follicle and the “bulb” at the bottom of the follicle determine the shape of the hair growing out of the follicle.
Hair follicles are generally round and straight, so that the hair that grows out of them is straight.
Even before puberty there are short, straight, thin hairs in the pubic area.
Sex hormones (called androgens) that are made during and after puberty circulate throughout the body.
The hair follicles in the pubic region, underarms and beard are especially sensitive to androgens.
Androgens apparently make hair follicles in these areas twist and also make their bulbs kink.
The result is curly, kinky pubic hair.

As you know, these hairs are also thicker and coarser than other body hair.
You might wonder why girls don’t grow beards, if both boys and girls have these sex hormones.
The answer is that boys’ bodies make more of the male sex hormones,
and it takes more of these hormones to stimulate the change from straight to kinky in the facial area.

Okay, time to study.

I was reading an article few hours ago while waiting for Buttons to get his haircut.
To be honest, it is pretty inspirational and educational to some extent.
A friend of mine came to me asking for advices in matters of the heart, and I suddenly realized that it’s really no mean feat trying to maintain a healthy and happy relationship.
So here is a checklist for everyone in love! :)

Well, we all started off as individuals.
And as much as you love your friends, do keep in mind that your partner has his own social life too.
Of course, it would be perfect if you can get to know his friends too
And even better if you guys can clique!
In my opinion, never challenge a guy to choose between you and his bunch of guys.
Friends are really important people indeed.
Think. Who do you run to when you’re having a tiff with your boyfriend? -Your girlfriends!

Worrying too much about the future just cause unnecessary tension and pressure on the couple.
“Do you think you will still love me after 5 years?”
“When we get married in future, are we going to split the household workload?”
Why worry about tomorrow’s problems when you can simply just enjoy today?
Many arguments are caused by these unimportant debates and mindless questions,
and I have to admit, often coming from the females.
Honestly, if I were to imagine being asked such questions everyday, I’ll be quite irritated as well.
But that said, I’ll still keep asking because I sometimes seek comfort from the answers I receive.

I know this may sound very cliche.
But when you fall in love with someone, you fall in love with both this good and bad points.
And expecting someone to change after you two get together, or get married, is almost near impossible.
Well that’s on the more serious note, of course.
Little things like fashion sense & small bad habits may have the chance of being influenced by you,
but at the end of the day, you just have to learn to accept that nobody is ever perfect.

Like what they always say, “it takes two hands to clap”.
If you’re guilty of always blaming your partner for anything that went wrong, I guess it’s time you reflect upon yourself.
If he is late, why not ask him what happened on the way to meet you instead of jumping to conclusions?
If he is always grumpy when he is with you, perhaps you can ask him why has made his day gone wrong?
When you did something that had caused some unhappiness between the two of you, I’m sure you’d appreciate it too,
if he asks if there are any problems you are facing instead of pushing the blame all to you right away.

I guess at my age, this might be one of the biggest problems the ladies will be facing.
Everybody has different ideals about marriage and settling down.
It is inevitable if you would scare your boyfriends away if you keep trying to rush into things.
And on a less serious note, there is always a right time to pop the “I love you”s & physical intimacy when you’re in a new relationship.
Take things slow and let things happen naturally.

I will have to say that I’m very guilty of this sin. Green-eyed monsters, please join the line.
It may be due to your previous bad experiences or encounters with heartbreakers, but jealousy kills slowly.
Where there is jealousy, there will be no trust.
Interaction and conversations with the opposite sex is very normal.
And if you get jealous when there is no real reason to, it will seriously cause great harm to the relationship.
That being said, I think it’s important that you always get that sense of security from your partner as well.
Do talk about it & let him know if you need assurance and more security in your relationship.

If you are guilty of this, then your current lover must be in agony.
If you’re still hung up over your previous relationship, you probably need more time to nurse your little broken soul.
But if you’re just one of those irritating brats who like to compare your current partner with your ex
then it’s really time to do something about it.
I can understand completely when you say that it’s inevitable to compare sometimes.
We all compare – it’s only natural.
But like what I’ve mentioned earlier, no one is perfect.
Next time you catch yourself comparing again, why not compare something that your current boyfriend has that your ex doesn’t?
Come to terms with the reality, and tell yourself that if you keep wanting to have the best of both worlds,
you’ll probably end up with nothing.

It takes a lot of courage to walk away from something you are so familiar with.
And that fear and insecurity about the unknown world out there always gets us stuck in a dilemma.
This was exactly what I was facing when I was still with the-one-who-shall-not-speak-of.
But honestly, if you choose not to walk away now, you will still come face-to-face with the same problem few years down the road.
So if that is not what you want, try to talk about the problem with your loved one and see what can be done to bring that spark back.
And if both of you are too tired to do anything about it, then it’s time to let go.

There is basically no relationship without trust and communication.
It takes years to build up on trust but only seconds to destroy it.
If you are unhappy about something, do let your partner know.
If you’re unhappy and he is left clueless, it will be a little unfair isn’t it?
I think this is pretty straight forward, and everyone should agree with this.

Honestly, there can’t be another faster or more cowardly way to end a relationship.
I guess this is the mistake everyone tries to avoid, but probably also one of the more common pitfalls causing broken relationships. But as much as it hurts, look at the bright side – it somehow makes moving on easier isn’t it? If you want to see someone else, be a responsible lover and end your relationship first.

And another bad thing we always do when we’re in a relationship is to mention breaking up all the time.
It might be able to scare your boyfriend for the first few times and will get him back at your feet again, but over time, it will just appear as if you don’t treat him seriously at all. Don’t mention anything about breaking up all the time unless you really mean it. And if “breaking up” doesn’t present itself as an option, then your relationship will last long enough until the cows come home.

That being said, I think we still have a lot to learn about maintaining a good relationship with our loved one.
It’s always easy to fall in love but hard to stay in love.
I think I can be found guilty of all of those faults mentioned above.
But it’s never too late to learn.

The world will be a better place with more love going around, people. :)

SIXPEGS MAKEUP TUTORIAL

Alright, I’ve got to admit that my makeup skills aren’t exactly very fabulous.
So if you guys have any tips or advices you wanna share with other girls, please feel free to leave a comment too!

Here is my clean face right after a bath.
Washed, toned & moisturized.
I don’t do sunblocks simply because I’m too lazy.

You can see from the picture above (probably not too clearly, thank god) that I’ve got zit scars on chin and cheeks.
My scars take forever to fade off, so I always use liquid foundations because they provide more coverage.
I like the dewy finish too, not as cakey and whitish looking like cake foundation.
Personal preference.

I’ve tried liquid foundations from Shu Uemura, Shiseido, Ettusais and Lancome but I love this Loreal one.
Plus it’s super cheap. Shiseido’s was great too.
But this Loreal one got like super micro sparkly stuff in them that makes my face glow!

Use liquid concealer that is just one shade lighter than your skin tone and drop it around the eye area.
If you’ve got extra concealer on your finger, don’t waste them!
Just casual apply them to your nose bridge or brow bone because they act as a highlighter.

If you look at my eyebrows closely, you’ll notice that they are imbalanced like crazy! :p
I use the brow powder from Benefit.
They have the powder, brow wax and a small tweezer so it’s really convenient even when you’re overseas.
You’ve got everything in a small box.

You must be thinking that I’ve missed out on the loose powder step.
I don’t like to have my brows too dark, so normally only after filling in my brows,
will I dust loose powder all over my face.
It helps the liquid foundation to set on the face better, making it more lasting too.

I am normally too lazy to put eye shadow but for the sake of the blog post,
I’ll show you my lazy girl’s way of having eye shadow on!
I have to admit, I’m REALLY BAD with eye shadows.

I’ll line the inner corners with shimmery or a shadow of a lighter tone.
Next, line the outer corners (upper and lower) with dark shadow.
Gradually blend the dark colors from the outer corner inwards, until they look “decent”.
Sorry, I can’t find a better way to describe it.
It’s just pretty much based on my gut feelings. :p

Using an eyeliner, line the outer corners of eye.
I’d try to do it with a “dotted line” instead of a harsh line so that it appears more natural.
Go as close to the lash line as possible.
I’d normally avoid lining the lower lash line unless I’m going for a gothic look or preparing for a night out or dressing up as a panda.

I really got no idea how falsies work, sadly.
So I’m a slave of mascaras.
I totally love them though – they open up your eyes instantly!

I love the blush palette from Estee Lauder.
They’ve got everything from shimmery to matt, orange to pink to brown, so it’s really suitable for everyone.
Using a blush brush (like a tongue twister, say blush brush 5 times!) put some blusher on the apples of your cheek!
Start from the apple up/outwards, like drawing two big “ticks” on your face.
Remember to smile to see, it’ll be easier to make the blush appear more natural.

And my favourite makeup item would be ZA’s energy water!
I really hate makeup that appears very cakey, so this gem really saves the day.
Close your eyes and spray some all over your face.
It’s cheap and readily available in Watsons and Guardians.
Totally freshens you up too! :D

And we’re good to go! :)
