Dinner with the girlfriends finally happened today. *grins*
Big thanks to Lianie for organizing.
It is always great meeting up with these ladies – chilling over drinks and catching up over dinner.
It really takes a lot of effort to keep up with our friendships,
especially when they are all busy working and got a lot other commitments in their lives.
But I’m really glad we’re all still so in love with each other! Hahaha!

We had dinner at Marmalade Pantry at ION.
Lianie and Aiyolove wanted Japanese food (again!) but Sinsin & me were too lazy and tired to walk,
so we settled for this instead.
I love those yellow chrysanthemums on each and every table! ♥

I think we’re all getting old already. :c

I hope we don’t freak the rest of the patrons in the restaurant with our camwhoring antics!

Earlier today, I also brought Maliboo for a trim of her fur!
Now she’s looking all smart and pretty again with her new Edna (from The Incredibles) hairstyle.

Ah Boy says HELLO to all readers!
This little charming thing is Button’s brother’s baby.
He got the most expressive eyes ever, super adorable when he’s doing that puppy eyes thing.
But he can be SOOO grumpy and scary if you dare disturb his sleep! :p

Sunday ended early because Buttons had to attend his rehearsal with The Teng Company.
I feel really happy and thrilled for them because all the tickets to their concert are sold!
(HURRAY!)
I’m sure the performance on Saturday will be Awesome – Awesome with a capital ‘A’!

I was proud to be invited to the Puma – Da Mouth party held at 72-13 yesterday.
It was a simple but very exciting event, and I had lots of fun with my friends!
I wore a white singlet and denim shorts with my new (old) buy from flea&easy.
I got the red blazer at a price just slightly over $20, and I’m so so loving it!
It’s loud and I think it looks fab, makes me look like an red packet though.

I was feeling vain.
So I put on those colored contacts as well. Gees! It’s nice to look different sometimes.

I extended the invitation to Sindy, Michelle, Raylene, Belicia and XW as well.
Special thanks to Gwen from the PR team for the event as well!
I had tons of fun, and also ran into a couple old friends at the party.
There was free flow of booze at the party as well!
And it sure made things a lot more fun. :p

Da Mouth, better known as 大嘴巴, are the ambassadors for PUMA this time around.
They flew in all the way from Taiwan to be present for the event.
To be honest, I’m not exactly a big fan of theirs, but their songs are kinda catchy and easy to remember.
Plus, Aisa from the group is SO adorable! *swoons*

There were also fashion shows done by gorgeous models and Da Mouth members themselves.
The girls and I enjoyed ourselves a lot, checking out the hot boys.
I feel like I’ve sinned. Hahahahaha!

I also saw other great people like Benjamin, Jeremy, Duncan, Chern and guys.
It was nice seeing Lawrence after so long as well!
I also stole a picture with the beautiful Gwen, and some of the models.
Last but not least, we camwhored a lot among ourselves too!

I dropped by Zouk for a little while after the PUMA party ended, but left after less than a hour.
I really got no frigging stamina left for long weekend nights.
Friday nights are great for snuggling in bed man. :)

I am actually quite proud of myself.
Because if this were to happen a year ago, I would probably skip 2 quizzes so I won’t be so stressed up.
Prolly fake an MC or something.
But this time round, I attended all my quizzes and actually studied for all four.
I might not be able to do well in my quizzes, but I guess I should be able to pass all four.
I am so proud of myself.
Wee.

It’s recess week this coming week.
And after the recess week, time is going to fly.
It is now Week 7 of the semester. And there are only around 14 weeks in the current semester.
I am already halfway there. I just have to hang in there for the next 7 weeks!
I need to hang in there and make the best out of it. :)

I got to see Buttons yesterday and I’m really happy.
It’s a very hectic and stressful period for him right now with all the writing, deadlines and performances.
The Teng Company will be performing next week,
and they are all really busy rehearsing and preparing for it.
It’s gonna be an awesome performance!
And I have also volunteered to be their official photographer. Hahaha.
(Actually it’s just an excuse for me to practise on my Canon baby)

Not sure when I’ll get to see him again, probably over this weekend?
But he has already told me in advance that he will be very busy catching up with his work,
and he told me to be prepared.
Oh well, I’m fine with anything just as long as I can be around him. :p

I can’t wait for the Puma party tomorrow at 72-13!
It has been quite a long while since I had some good fun with my friends.
And I’ll be able to see Sinsin dear tomorrow, been so long since we last met.
Might be meeting up with Lianie dear and Aiyolove on Sunday as well.

Anyway, the biggest thing I’m looking forward to as of now is my Phuket trip!
I caught myself strutting up and down my room in my bikini a few times already.
I guess I really can’t wait no more for the Phuket trip.
It’s time to bring my new camera there and camwhore till I drop! :p
The sad thing is that I’m really fat and out of shape now.
Sobs. Even my close friend is calling me pregnant.
Dammit.

And here is little Selina, she’s SO adorable!
Her Mom is Thai so she speaks really fluent Thai on top of English and Mandarin.
So awesome! I wanna be able to speak Thai too!
She will grow up to be a real babe! Just look at her now – already so pretty!

Anyway, there’s this really weird aunty I met at Aunty Just’s party.
She is Vietnamese but speaks rather good Mandarin, although she still has that strong accent.
That aside, she is really a little creepy.
I don’t know if she is just being very friendly but she really makes me feel a little uncomfortable.

She told me that she really liked me, and said that I’m very pretty blah blah.
After that, she kept saying that it’ll be great if she had a daughter like me.
Then, she started referring to herself as “Mommy”, and kept saying that I’m her daughter.
Started hugging me and kissing me on my cheeks.
All these were said in front of Mom!
I try not to be over sensitive because my Mom’s friends are rather open and extremely friendly people.

Then she asked if I had a boyfriend.
I said ‘Yes’ and added that my boyfriend will be arriving shortly.
So after Buttons came, she started talking to him, as if she’s trying to check out whether he is a good guy.
Asked him when he wants to marry me and whether he loves me a lot.
Buttons said we’ll probably only get married 2 to 3 years from now
because we’re all still young and unaccomplished currently.
Hearing that, she got a little pissed and told him off subtly, saying that I am a woman,
and I can’t wait that long for a man to marry me.

When Buttons left the table for the washroom,
she tucked me over to her side and started brainwashing me with a lot of weird theories!
Asked me whether Buttons is giving my money regularly now, and whether he is rich.
She said that Buttons is very proud and probably won’t be able to take care of me in future.
And she also added that she will be able to introduce very rich men to me,
saying that one will only gain respect from others if one has a lot of money.
I was appalled – that is the first time I met her!
All the Mommy-Daughter, hugging, kissing and brainwashing just scares me.

Anyway, the night ended at around 5am that night.
Buttons and I walked her out to get a cab home.
After she left, we started discussing about her and her weird antics.

The worse thing is, she asked me for my number that day and I gave it to her.
Because it would be so rude not to give it to her since she asked in front of everybody.
And she asked me earlier in the day before all her weird antics showed,
so I wasn’t really freaked out yet.

Just an hour ago at about 3am, she called me!
She started crying and wailing in her weird Vietnamese-accent Mandarin saying her house is haunted,
and she is so afraid, and don’t dare to sleep at home.
I asked her where she is and she mentioned that she is at her neighbor’s house.
She then passed the phone to a China woman who told me that she is very afraid,
and is now drinking and crying at her place.
When I get to speak to the Vietnamese aunty again, she told me that she didn’t dare to go home.
And she felt very bad imposing on her China woman friend.
Honestly, I was SO afraid that she might ask if she can come over to my place!
Luckily she didn’t.

I asked her what happened at home and she said that there is a ghost at her place.
And every night when she tries to go to sleep, the ghost would disturb her.
I asked her whether she saw the ghost, but she said she can only feel it.
And went on to say that the ghost always disturb her by tucking her vagina. (!?)
Seriously, what the fuck man.

Can I give you back your $10 red packet and we pretend that we’ve never met?

Alright.
That aside, I bought 2 new toy plastic glasses today.
I am so in love with these plastic glasses.
Wooo! I love looking nerdy.
Great for days when I have no eye makeup on too.
Yippee.

(pardon the makeup-less face, hate that new pimple on my forehead!)

P.S. I hope the Vietnamese aunty never call me again!

This is a gorgeous bib that I got from UK couple months ago.
I’ve only worn it once to my cousin’s wedding.
It’s really gorgeous and the details are awesome – the beads and sequins are all sewn, not pasted.
I brought it back all the way from UK, so chances of you
bumping into another girl wearing the same thing is pretty low.

The shape of the bib allows it to stay snugly close to your neck, savvy.

The third day of Chinese New Year was pretty much slacking time for the both of us.
It’s really good to be able to sleep in late on a weekday.
The bad part is – all the nice breakfast hawker stalls are all closed. Boo.
But the snuggling and lazing-around-in-bed-till-late makes up for all of that! Heh.

I also want to share the new storage containers I bought from Muji.
They are totally awesome!
I got the mini drawers, acrylic shelves, tissue paper holder &
a DVD holder (which I will use to hold other stuff later).
They make my whole dressing area look so neat, bright and sparkling clean!
I love them!

Am also loving the hydrating sleeping mask that Buttons recommended me!
It’s from SKINC, found in ION Orchard. (Also found in Republic Plaza)
I have always been a fan of the Laneige Sleeping Mask,
but this one is even more awesome!!
It’s as if my skin is “drinking” up the mask through the night, leaving my skin SO supple in the day.
Awesome awesome awesome!
But considering the price difference, I think I’m still gonna stick to my Laneige Sleeping Pack. Heh.

Just random pictures to start my entry.
Although there are (many) times that I’ll think about how great a Blackberry might be,
I still love my iPhone and iPod a lot. Heh!
I think Buttons has totally converted me into some Macintosh maniac. :p

Buttons just bought his iPhone yesterday too.
He is TOTALLY into it now! ♥

Wore my new Adidas watch out yesterday.
I REALLY love it a lot – cheap and very pretty (to me at least!)

I am really broke once again now.
I spent close to $2000 in these 2 days shopping for Valentines’ Day gift,
some accessories for the upcoming Chinese New Year, top up my skincare products, etc.
I bought the whitening serum from Chanel since my Laneige serum has finished.
Anyone out there using this?
I asked the assistant very specifically whether it will help lighten pimple scars and she said yes.
If it doesn’t help my scars, I’m gonna go down to TANGS to kill her.
Oh and bought my regular sunscreen too. Awesome.

And no I did not spend almost $2000 on just skincare products and gifts.
The biggest purchase is actually a DSLR camera from Canon!
I bought the 500D model after consulting a few friends of mine.
Was set on buying the Nikon D5000 initially, but somehow I got persuaded to get this instead.
But I kinda like the small size although it may look like a toy to others because it’s smaller.
But my hands aren’t that big afterall, and I feel quite comfortable holding it.
My 2 previous compact cameras are all from Canon, and my first DSLR is also a Canon.
I am SO loyal. Hahahaha!

I remember it has always been my dream to own a DSLR.
Look at this “lust list” from my old blog site – DSLR is one of my lusts since many years ago.

I am glad that I have attained some of these lusts.
I did buy myself a new guitar (but it was later smashed by my brother dammit!),
I also bought not just one pair but several pairs of sneakers,
I organized a photoshoot before and now I have finally gotten my DSLR!
Well, I realized that I don’t really want Benetint anymore so it doesn’t matter. Hahaha!

So yes, I am a happy girl!

I have to thank my helpful and patient friends Melvin (& Irene!) for helping me with learning more about DSLRs.
Melvin gave me a crash course on the basics of the camera,
and also helped me analyse the various models and gave me some really good advice!

This was taken when we met up at the void deck for the crash course, I know it’s so unglam.
(Melvin is a neighbour by the way)

Buttons was with me throughout too, thanks for your company baby! :)

I accompanied Mom out the other day and we saw these people rescuing kittens from the gutters!
It was pouring very heavily that day and I think these kittens are newborns,
because they can’t even walk properly yet!

This weekend was great with Buttons!
We have been together for the entire weekend, & it makes me so happy! :)
We had dinner at our dear Garden slug, shopped around at Ion,
and even dragged our asses to Flea&Easy at Zouk earlier despite our ailments.

I bought a vintage high-waisted skirt, a red blazer and a pair of brown leather sandals.
I’m super happy! And I LURVE flea markets. Wee!

Life hasn’t really been treating me well lately.
Endless problems and stress from my family, schoolwork,
and I even had a heated arguement with Buttons few days ago.
Oh well, shit happens.
But the good thing is, Buttons and I talked through our problems and we’re all fine now.
It really takes a lot of effort to keep the loving alive.
Even at times when we’re too busy to meet up, we can always count on video calls. :p

Fortunately, we finally got to meet up few days ago at Holland Village!
I miss him so very much.
And it has been really so, so long since we last spent quality time together.
I miss those carefree and happy days.
Though they’re not coming back anymore,
we should still always try to keep the spark alive through other means, isn’t it?

I think the mad fights made us understand that we’re both freaking bad asses,
and we both won’t be bullied easily. Hahaha!
So we should stay in love and continue loving each other, Buttons.
It will be challenging to strike a good balance but it’ll be worth trying.
We’ll be totally awesome if we can make it through this transition phase.

And the dinner on Monday was fabulous. Thanks baby.

Everything doesn’t look good.
I really want to make everything good.
I promised myself that I will work hard.
And I thought I have reached a fair and reasonable compromise with my younger brother.
But I am really disappointed in him.
I really am very, very disappointed.
And if I am already so upset, I cannot imagine how hard it will be for my parents -
how much more tears they have cried and pain they have felt whenever my brother disappoints us.

Sometimes when I want to make it work, I am utterly afraid.
Because I am really very tired and jaded.
I don’t want him to waste all the time and effort that he has put in for the last few years.
But I really don’t understand how should I do it.
And I don’t know what else to do.
I don’t understand him, as much as he doesn’t understand us.
We are really not asking for much.
Respect. Determination. Honesty. And the ability to differentiate right and wrong.
I believe if he wants to do it, he will definitely be able to do it.
In fact for someone as street-smart as him, he can achieve a lot more than what he has now.
All, if he would muster the courage and determination to make a change and put his heart into it.

Dad is not well too.
I went to a friend’s father’s wake last week.
And I felt really sorry for his loss.
We read about deaths and accidents on the newspaper everyday, but until it happens to us,
we’ll never be able to understand the grieve I guess.
Sometimes, I’d imagine what life would be like if my parents are not around anymore.
Just the mere imagination of losing them can leave me teary-eyed.
People always take too long to realize the importance of family.
Friends and lovers come and go, but it’s the family who will stick to you through thick and thin.
They are the ones who would do anything to make sure you are not hungry.
And they are the ones who truly hope that you will do well in life,
and have your own happy family in future as well.
“Blood is thicker than water”, they don’t say this for nothing.

I am not a good writer, sometimes I even have problems trying to express what I want to say.
But all I want to say is, it will never be too late to realize the importance of family.
And it is also never too late to realize our mistakes & to return to the right path.
It is okay to fall down and make mistakes.
The true test is whether you can pick yourself up to try harder.

Philson, if you are reading this, please bear what I told you in mind.
I may not be your best friend and I might not be the person who understands you best.
But I am your sister since 16 years ago and I will always be your sister until we leave this world.
We are all trying to encourage you and we all want the best for you.
Our parents are not the most eloquent people around, they don’t know how to tell you how they feel.
But they are always expressing their love in the most subtle ways -
like making sure you won’t go hungry, making sure you have enough rest before school,
waking you up at 7am every morning when they can actually sleep until noon,
giving you their trust and keep wanting to give you another chance,
keeping each and every birthday card or Mothers’ Day card from you deep in their bedside drawers.

Please do not say that you are not fit to be in this family.
If you are not fit, then no one also will be fit enough to take your place.
Because there is only one Philson and nobody can replace you in our hearts.
We have all tried and did our part to try to help you and encourage you.
But all these effort will go down the drain if you don’t want to make things happen.
Because ultimately, this life is yours.
And where this life will take you to in future, is all dependent on what you do now.
All these may sound far-fetched and distant to you now, but you will soon understand in time.
But you are a smart person & I am certain you will know what you should do now.
It really breaks my heart when you lie to me,
because I want to be the person you can talk to if you have problems.
I want to give you my trust, but you need to earn my trust through your actions.

Don’t bear grudges against your teachers in school or our parents when they scold you.
Like you, we are humans too. We get angry too.
And it is very upsetting and frustrating when you always let us down time after time.
And even more depressing when you choose not to give us your respect.
Like what I said, the best way to take revenge is to do well in school,
and show your teachers, and everyone else, that they were all wrong about you.

Everyone has problems.
And they won’t be called problems if they can be resolved easily.
I didn’t do well in school as well.
And I don’t want you to be on the same path as me because
it really is very lonely if you are still in school after your friends have graduated.
People might laugh at you, look down on you or make fun of you,
but don’t get mad.
Just make sure you do better than those people in life next time.
Then, they will laugh at themselves and look down on themselves the next time they see you again.

Let this be your final lap.
Finish it fast, finish it good.
Whenever you feel like giving up, or feel tired, look at this letter again to encourage yourself.
Look at the comments from other readers if there are any.
I am sure everybody will tell you that it’s never too late to start trying.
Everybody will tell you that family is important.
Everybody will tell you that being respectful to your family is important.
Always remember that you are not alone.
I am also struggling in school and I am also learning to find the courage to face the consequences.
