Freedom is sweet

I’m sorry for disappearing for so long.
Been busy over the exams, and I’m so glad it’s all over now.

Had a family chalet over the last few days,

Breakfast at Tiffany’s

I had a wonderful night with Shiyin and Lianie earlier.
Had dinner, delicious ice cream,
and sat by the river outside Esplanade talking about everything under the sun.
Playing silly games only secondary school kids would be entertained by.
But yet still gleaming with joy from all that.

Thanks for all that messages in for me.
I have to say that they are quite comforting indeed.
But I’m still not talking to my mother yet.
I’m kinda stubborn. And I hate being the one to give in.
Sigh.

Oh. I watch Breakfast At Tiffany’s too.
It is such a great show to be watched alone, at night, in the wee hours.
I’ve always thought that it is such an embarrassment to not watch the movie before
when I have such a huge Breakfast At Tiffany’s poster hanging in my room wall.
I always thought that Audrey Hepburn is just a really sweet and caring lovely woman.
But little did I know that she was such a great actress.

I love the show.
And it made me fall in love with the classic song – Moon River.

I’m feeling so weak now.
I’m like drinking alone in my room now.
Yes call me an alcoholic but it feels horrible not having close available now.
There are so much to be vented out but I can only swallow all back into my gut.
Cannot sleep.
And I even felt ashamed to bring out my books to study now.
It’s just bad.

I wish she knew how I felt.
That it wasn’t exactly in my plan to be retained in school for another year.
And to make her fork out money for another year’s fees.

Take my tears. I want to lose them.

How am I going to continue without anyone believing in me?
Now not even myself.
How can I possibly believe in myself?

And the girls in there had quite a bad impression on showgirls.
Well, being one myself,
I guess I have to clear the air a bit by standing up for some of us.

Not all of us are girls who are just after a few hundred dollars more
to get another Gucci or Louis Vuitton bag.

What is the difference between earning money giving tuition,
and making money standing around during shows?

I guess so long as it doesn’t hurt anyone nor challenge one’s integrity,
it is a decent job.
There is no doubt, however, that the job makes the girls look like wallflowers.
But if you are characterizing all these girls as materialistic tramps
who squeeze their bosoms to show some cleavage before camera lens,
then you are probably wrong.

I know of people, particularly students, who work in shows just purely for the money.
Nothing material, nothing for the glamor (even if there really IS glamor)
Some of these girls do not even club.
I cross my heart that not all showgirls are rotten empty vessels.

Frankly, I hate working in shows too.
One thing is for sure, the skimpy outfits have to go.
Some of the clients are making the girls look trashy instead or classy.
I hate those irritating photographers from god-knows-where
who would usually appear from out of nowhere and request for a photo.
I got no fucking idea where the photos go.
(Probably pinned up at home on the “jerk-off” wall)

Standing around for hours on pencil thick heels is no easy feat at all too.

Well, what can I say?
Money makes the world go round.

To put it simply, it’s just 賣笑.

However, I’m not exactly ashamed that I’m doing all these if you ask me.
It is clean and decent money.
And they did open my eyes to certain things too.
I think it’s no big deal and I’m making money for my own pocket.

And I miss him badly.
I lost sleep last night.

I cannot exactly put my finger to that one thing which captivates me so much.

Linger on

The vacation has been pretty laid back for me.

I got the chance to meet up with a friend from Manchester few days ago too.
I met her at Couchsurf and we arranged to meet up for a drink.
Her name is Katie and she was such a wonderful person to be with!
Sadly, I was too excited that day I didn’t bring my camera.
But I’m sure we’ll be meeting again for Little India before she goes home.

Here is a little update on my little precious girl, Maliboo.
She has been quite a little headache.
Especially when she pees all around.
She is quite a fast learner, but when it comes to all that poop and pee business,
she’s really taking her own sweet time.

Whenever I’m alone at home with her,
I have to make sure I can hear the bell on her ringing.
If that ringing stops, well it could mean that she’s sleeping
OR CHEWING ON MY SHOE!
OR SCRATCHING SCOTCH TAPE OFF SOME BOXES.

This little rascal has brought lots of joy to my family though.
I am pretty amazed at the rate she picks up new tricks.
Pretty smart for a 3 month old I reckon!

Her coat of fur got a little longer, and she looks kinda bigger now.
She has gotten much stronger too by now.
Because she can now hop right up to my sofa set!
It’s really driving Mommy crazy!

I caught “Fur” on DVD earlier.
It was an imaginary biography about Diane Arbus – a famous B&W photographer.
I was curious about what imaginary biography is.
A biography is a biography.
How can it be imaginary?

Well anyway, it was quite a slow but intriguing show.
Let us in about what the lady is all about I guess.

I remembered from the Black and White Photography class,
when my tutor told us more about Diane Arbus.
She loves taking pictures of strange things.
Freaks. Twins. And odd looking people.
She is fascinated by them.

I like this picture of hers.
A skinny scrawny little boy holding a hand grenade.
And another hand all tensed up.

There is a sense of awkwardness in that boy, isn’t it?

I found from online the contact sheet of the photographs she look of the little boy too.
And out of the many photographs shown there,
I think it is easy to tell the character of someone by the kind of photograph one likes.

In her arms is her daughter, Doon Arbus.

Not again

I am gripped by fear again.
The fear of being in the battle all alone.
It’s just gonna be another 10 days before miumiu returns.

And in another 24 days, he’s going to be gone again.
And will be away for longer than ever.

I don’t know if I can handle school being all alone.
That’s not going to be easy I guess.

Gosh. This feeling really sucks.
And honestly, I’m really worried.
Because I’ve got no idea what the future holds.
Time really whizzes past too quickly, isn’t it?

With Glee

My internship is going to end in a flash.
This Friday in fact.
AND I REALLY CANNOT WAIT ANY LONGER!

I will soon get to sleep until 12pm everyday.
Watch movies at student rates in the afternoons.
Party on Wednesdays.
Be with Maliboo at home in the afternoons.
Catch some sun by the beach.
Chuck all my office wear to the corner of my closet again.

I can no longer remember when is the last time I went to the beach alone.
To have music in my ears, sand between my toes and a good book in my hands.
I think that is the perfect escapade for someone who has been cooped up in my office.
Guess it will feel good even if it’s somewhere as lame as Sentosa.
Hahahaha.
I love that kind of tranquil solitude.

Highschool Sweetheart

Have I ever mentioned how I was like in secondary school?

I was kinda shy.
And I’m a mommy’s girl (well I still am now) and I listened to everything she says.
She said that I wasn’t allowed to go out with boys.
And I never dared to go against her.

When I was 14 years old, I got madly in love with this 17 year old boy.
HAHAHA!
It was rather insane because I kinda looked like a joke when I was 14!
We didn’t really speak to each other again after he graduated.

On his 17th birthday, I gave him a bottle of rice grains.
With his name written on EACH AND EVERY RICEGRAIN!

Seriously, I didn’t know what went over me.
But no way I’m gonna do something so retarded again!
What a lovefool.

We got back into contact recently again.
And decided that we should at least go out once!
HAHAHAHA.

Sindy joined us a bit later right after her flight from Shanghai.

The date today is 13th July 2008.
And honestly, I really hate lonely Sunday nights.
But even if I’m at a party now, I’d still hate it.
Basically I hate Sunday nights.

But you know what?
It’s 5 more days until the end of my internship.
And 18 days before miumiu comes back on his 2-weeks vacation!
He has already been away for a month.
We’ve never been away from each other for so long before.
And I really do miss him.
24 days before my birthday.
And I think it’s gonna be fabulous spending my day with my family,
my beloved girlfriends, and the man I’ve been missing a lot.

I cannot wait for the month of August to be here.

I finally had the chance to catch Liying on her vacation back in Singapore!

She is still the same old Liying from New Face two years back.
Time really flies!
She was only 16 when I first met her!

The week has been quite a horrible one for me.

I’m already so thrilled at the thought of it.

I was webcamming with miumiu earlier and Maliboo was on my desk.
She slept on my hand and I conveniently took a few snaps of her on my webcam!
And she looked incredibly adorable.

I met up with my dear Jason on Wednesday night.
He is back from Switzerland and I caught him before he leaves for Maldives.
He’s going to be there on a work trip and not sure how long he’ll be there.

We had dinner and he brought me for drinks at Regent Hotel.
3 sips of this Elephant Martini almost made him fall asleep on the spot.
It was a concoction of Martini, Cointreau and freaking CAMPARI.

Thursday night, I had drinks with my colleagues at Balcony!
It was a welcome party for the newcomers to the company,
as well as a farewell for those leaving.

Rather nice if you ask me – seeing everyone let their hair down and chill.

I made Maliboo yummy dindin today too.
Hard boiled egg white with boiled tofu mixed with her kibbles.
She had nice banana as treats too!

Woof Woof!

I went Zouk for a little while on Friday night.
Was really just idling here and there.
Pretty enjoyable though, seeing a few familiar faces here and there.
:)
Got the company of Michelle! Hee.

Saw Rachel and Victoria there too :)

Alright, after thinking for so long.
And with quite a few people asking me for the password,
I think I might as well just reveal it lah!

I bought a little puppy.
I have been wanting to get a puppy for a long time.
And although I know it’s going to be time-consuming
and extremely costly to keep a puppy,
I’ve decided to go ahead with it!
With miumiu’s support too of course!

Her name is Maliboo.
And she is really smart because in just two days at my place,
she is already paper-trained!
Her skin isn’t really good though, sadly.
When I just brought her home, she got really long fur.
And got dried skin flakes on her fur.
I did some research and it might be some kinda mites.
:(
I didn’t know how to trim her fur, so I brought her for a trim.

I think she has never been bathed before since birth.
And has been eating low quality dog food (Alpo) too.
:(

But I guess it was her first time at trimming and she was terrified.
I cried when I saw her watery eyes!
(T__T)

Turned out that the poor girl for a few bald spots all over her.
I got worried and brought her to the vet.

Fortunately, the vet said that she didn’t have mites on her.
But she got some infection on her skin which will aggravate if left unattended.
Got her medicated shampoo and lotion.
Ear drips for her slightly infected ears.
She really didn’t come to be in good condition.

From the moment I saw her, I could feel the connection in her soulful eyes.
And bought her despite her ninja black black face.
LOL.

She might not be the prettiest dog around,
and probably look somewhat like an old man,
but I will make sure she is loved!

THAT’S MY MALIBOO!

She is still scratching but I hope her skin will get well really soon!
